Dear Ulrike,

Forgive me for taking so long to respond to your letter. As I said when we spoke, my art department was laid off in late january & I've been searching for work.
Fortunately, I've found enough freelance to sustain me for now, but it leads to my overall concern regarding life as an artist. I have found it extremely difficult to make a living. I regret how short sighted I was when younger. I feel feminism would benefit politically & practically by clarifying the economic issues & findung solutions to work towards from the start.
Though I benefitted artistically & spiritually from the feminist movement, it may have contributed (through over-idealistc values) to my financial "retardation". As a woman I feel this also influenced my less than wise choice in men - especially when younger.
Besides these reservations, I am still politically impacted by the Feminist Art Program and many of my strenghts were developped & nourished during that period.

I would be very interested to read your project "Women's careers in the art world" & hope to hear more.

Sincerely,
